Primary Purpose of the Position
The machinist will be responsible for operating machining tools to produce precision metal parts that meet precise specifications, by setting up and operating of a wide variety of machine tool equipment. They will read blueprints to understand customer specifications and using a variety of tools to help the machinist set-up, operate, or repair the machine.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Prior experience in heavy construction machining
· Self-starter with good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor, with the ability to maintain a good working relationship with management and co-workers
· Must be able to lift and carry tools and material weighing up to 50 pounds
· Must possess openness to learning new skills and collaborating with other team members to create solutions
· Operate various types of machinery used in the trade such as milling machine,

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, and smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
